Professor Zhou Keyuan, President of GDMC



  Zhou Keyuan, male, born in January 1954 in Wuchuan Guangdong, is the president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the college. He is a CCP member with a master's degree, professor of biochemistry and tutor of graduate students for master's degree. Prof. Zhou graduated in 1980 from Guangdong Medical College and became a teacher in it. He studied for master's degree from 1985 to 1988 and got the degree in 1988. He was appointed the dean of Medical Laboratory in 1994 and then the section chief of Technology, director of Analyzing Center , deputy director of Guangdong Key Laboratory for Research and Development of Natural Drugs and the deputy editor of Guangdong Medical Journal. He became the vice president of the college in January 2002. He was appointed the president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee in March 2006. He has been teaching and doing research in biochemistry and molecular biology, focusing on the study on the mechanism of cell decay and death and its effective factors. The main project he is now taking charge and studying is one project on the cultivating talented people from “Guangdong Thousand Hundred and Ten Project”, one key project from Technological Committee of Guangdong Province , one key project from Traditional Chinese Medicine Bureau and one Zhanjiang Scientific and Technological project. Prof. Zhou has been awarded 8 prizes for scientific and technological advance at the province and city levels. He was conferred the title of excellent teacher in teaching and cultivating at the Guangdong province level in 1997.
